Why choose the no-touch cassette system?

Traditional piercing guns, used in many jewellery stores and market stalls, come into direct physical contact with the ear. This creates a genuine cross-contamination risk between clients, as the gun itself cannot be fully sterilised between uses.

Our no-touch cassette system works differently. The earring is housed in a sterile single-use cassette, and no part of the piercing apparatus ever touches the ear directly. Each cassette is used once and disposed of. This eliminates cross-contamination entirely, making it a meaningfully safer choice, particularly for children.

Choosing to have ears pierced at a pharmacy, rather than a jewellery kiosk or beauty salon, also means you are in a clinical environment with trained health professionals on hand if any questions arise afterward.

Piercing both ears at once

We are able to pierce both ears simultaneously, using two practitioners working at the same time. This is particularly popular with younger children, as it eliminates the anxiety of waiting for the second ear after the first is done. Many parents find it makes the whole experience considerably easier for nervous children.

Children's ear piercing

We are happy to pierce children's ears from the age of five. There is no upper age limit.

For children, we recommend coming in during a quieter time of day when the pharmacy is less busy, so your child feels comfortable and unhurried. Our staff are experienced at working with nervous children and will take the time to explain the process and make them feel at ease.

A parent or guardian must be present for children under 16.

Earrings and aftercare

We use only high-quality, sterile piercing earrings in a range of styles. Our collection includes:

• Birthstone studs

• Simple gold and silver shapes

• Novelty studs including daisies, smiley faces, and more

• Hypoallergenic earrings suitable for sensitive skin

All starter earrings are titanium or surgical steel, minimising the risk of allergic reaction during the healing period. We also stock a quality range of earrings for sensitive ears, which make excellent gifts for someone whose ears have recently healed.

After your piercing, our staff will provide full aftercare instructions. Following these carefully during the healing period, typically six to eight weeks for earlobes, significantly reduces the risk of infection or irritation.

We only pierce ears

Stay Well Pharmacy provides ear piercing only. We do not pierce any other part of the body.
